Severn Trent works mean Black Country roads misery
Saturday 30th October 2010, 9:09AM BST.
More disruption was today on the way for drivers under new plans by Severn Trent to dig up pipes in the Black Country.
The latest work is to mainly take place along Penncroft Lane, in Penn Common, with the news coming just days after the company announced further work on Wolverhampton’s busy Penn Road on weekends.
The move is part of a £4 million project to replace water mains in Penn that saw six weeks of disruption over the summer.
Temporary barriers will be set up along the route on Penn Common while the work is carried out.
Severn Trent spokeswoman Grace Marren said it was not yet known how long the work would take or when it would start.
She said: “We are working on plans to replace water mains and are working with the landowners to arrange for the work to be completed.”
Maps showing the proposed works can be inspected at the post office on Penn Road until November 26 between 10am and 4pm on weekdays.

Don’t worry its only for a few weeks, then it will all be re tarmaced and then the gas company or the sewers will be relaid requiring it to be dug up again so get used to it, going on the past record of the utilities and councils this seems the norm.
