Peter Andre fans went “insania” in Wolverhampton today, with hundreds queuing to meet the star in the city.

The Australian heart-throb was appearing at the Mander Centre promoting his new perfume named after one of his biggest hits, Mysterious Girl.

Devotees from across the region began queuing last night be among the first to meet the 37-year-old.

Superfan and mum-of-three Tina Lacy camped outside the shopping centre from 9pm yesterday.

The 32-year-old from the Lunt Estate in Bislton said: “I have been a fan since I was 16. “He is a lovely guy and a devoted dad.

“I wanted to make sure I met him so I came last night. I have not slept but it will be worth it when I meet Peter.

“I’m hoping for a kiss from him.”

Her friend Hannah Jeavons, 28, also from the Lunt Estate, said: “It was really cold last night and it rained.

“The police kept coming over to us and asking if we were alright. But we are at the front of the queue so it doesn’t matter. I don’t know what to say when I meet him. I will probably just freeze.”

Devoted Jessica Anslow was in the queue with 11 of her friends, who all arrived at the shopping centre at around 6.45am this morning.

The 17-year-old, who is studying child care at the City of Wolverhampton College, said: “I’m a massive Peter fan.

“He is lovely and has a gorgeous body.

“I am going to give him a rose and get him to sign my CD and perfume bottle.

He was appearing at 11am.

I was up MerryHill at 9am this morning and a queue was already forming there as he was meeting people at 3pm today by Harry Ramsdens.
As much as I like Pete I cant imagine why you would want to wait all night to see him. Seriously, its a bit wierd.

As much as I think Pete’s a decent bloke, i don’t understand the desire to cue up for hours to meet ANY celebrity… strange.

No, much much sadder than that….

I can possibly understand middle-teens getting seduced by mass hysteria surrounding a totally talentless super-ass…. but 30+ year old mums????

    God help this country!

What exactly is Peter Andre famous for?
Failed marriage to a big breasted woman, failed album of self indulgent songs and now a perfume named after his one hit wonder from yesteryear.
Oh dear, if this is what some people look up to then we really are doomed.

They’re fans..they’re doing no harm. They’re generating money and publicity for the area and the precinct. I personally wouldn’t wait so long to see most people, but I don’t see the problem..live and let live.

I would like to ask these people who have left negative comments is there no musician you like, no sportsman, no actor or actress? No one here is hurting anyone they just wanted to meet someone who they like. Its their perogative isn’t it? I dont think its fair for you to be so down in the world. I think you guys need to get the life as you don’t seem to enjoy yours?

went to see Peter at the Mander centre only as I was in the city….selfish people decided to go up and down the escalators blocking the views of many people who had stood for ages, he certainly kept his fans waiting.. wasn’t worth the wait!
