A fast food restaurant in the Midlands is at the centre of a battle for customers – using computer games and personal juke boxes.
KFC hopes to persuade diners to ditch McDonalds and Burger King by bringing in touch screens, games and music videos.
It is part of a wider trend to improve the ‘customer experience’ with modern technology and is going down well with customers.
The Hungry Horse chain of pubs, part of the Greene King group, has already seized the initiative by installing individual television screens on to tables.
KFC has taken the trend a stage further. Customers at its restaurant in on the Orbital Retail Park in Cannock can sit at tables with interactive projectors that transform into touch screens.
They can play games or listen to music videos.
