Two men and a 16-year-old who threatened to shoot a woman in the head during a robbery at a brothel being run from upmarket flats in Wolverhampton city centre have been locked up.

Anthony Brown, Anthony Adair and Joshua Bernard burst into the property in Albion Street, grabbing Jo Partridge and held a weapon to her head, before making off with three mobile phones.

They were all arrested by police as they fled the property on June 21 at around 8pm.

Brown, aged 23, of Cannock Road, Featherstone, Anthony Adair, 20, of Granville Close, All Saints, Wolverhampton, and Bernard 16, whose address was given as a youth offending prison in Milton Keynes, wore masks during the terrifying attack.

Brown was jailed for five years at Wolverhampton Crown Court yesterday, while Adair was given five years in a young offenders’ institution.

Reporting restrictions which had prevented the Express & Star from naming Bernard were lifted. He was sent to a young offenders institution for four years.

Warren Stanier, prosecuting, told the court: “Miss Partridge was at the flat in Albion Street which was be-ing used as a brothel.

She opened the front door and the three men pushed their way in.” Mr Stanier told the court the 39-year-old victim was grabbed by her hair and dragged down a hallway.

“A gun was held to her head,” Mr Stanier continued. “She was told her head would be blown off.”

The three friends failed to find any cash but officers recovered a German revolver and a blank 8mm cartridge from the trio.

Mr Ekwall Tiwana, defending Adair, said: “He fully accepts he was part of this joint enterprise.”

Mr Roy Paterson, defending Bernard, added his client was sorry about the case. And Mr Shiraz Aziz, defending mechanic Brown, added: “He is fully remorseful.”

Brown, Adair and Bernard pleaded guilty to robbery and possession of an imitation firearm. Judge Amjad Nawaz told the trio: “There was the invasion of someone’s home and you wore masks.”
