Families and music-lovers turned out for a free concert of rock, blues and Irish tunes.
Around 500 people enjoyed the mini-festival at Barr Beacon war memorial. The concert was held following £14,000 of repairs after copper was stripped from the monument twice in months – the second time as roof restoration was taking place.
Organiser Glen Buglass said: “It’s been a great event and there has been some extremely good music.
“This has been the first music concert on Barr Beacon for more than 20 years and we’d like to hold a mini-music festival every year.”
Yesterday’s gig also aimed to raise awareness of a planned £500,000 Heritage Lottery funded restoration programme at the Beacon Road site.
People were also donating money to the Mayor of Walsall, Councillor Gary Clarke’s chosen charity of Walsall Hospice.
Bands included Red Venice, Indie singer-songwriter Gavin Medsa and blues group Mojo Hooker.
