Teenager airlifted after road smash

A teenager was airlifted to hospital with head injuries after being hit by a car in the Black Country.

The boy was flown to Queen Elizabeth Hospital in Birmingham after being hit by a Ford Ka in Rose Hill Gardens, Willenhall, at about 5.30pm.

The driver, a 63-year-old Willenhall man, was not injured.

The road was closed for three hours, causing queues of traffic to build up. Anyone with information is asked to phone 0345 113 5000.
