Scones and strawberry jam will be served up at a Wolverhampton leisure centre during the Wimbledon tennis championships.

Every adult booking a tennis court at Aldersley Leisure Village, in Aldersley Road, during the fortnight-long competition will be offered the free tasty treat.

Manager Alison Compton said: “Each year we like to get into the spirit of Wimbledon and encourage residents to go along and have a game of tennis.

“Normally we serve strawberries and cream but this year we are doing something slightly different – we thought it would be nice idea to give customers the chance enjoy a treat after they finish playing their game.”

The offer is available throughout Wimbledon Fortnight, which continues until July 4.

Courts can be hired at a cost of £4.35 per hour. For more information call 01902 556200.
