A third post mortem was today being carried out on holiday worker Chelsea Hyndman amid claims vital medical records were not taken into account before her Black Country boyfriend was accused of her murder in Crete.

Campaigners trying to clear her boyfriend’s name say the pathologist who did out a post mortem did not have access to Miss Hyndman’s medical history. A medical researcher, drafted in by his family, today said it was “nigh on impossible” to come to the definite conclusion doctors released without such background history.

Miss Hyndman’s boyfriend Luke Walker, 22, from Brierley Hill, has been remanded in custody charged with her murder.

A second post mortem in England showed Miss Hyndman died from a ruptured pancreas. Police in Greece say her injuries were caused by “physical violence” but Walker claims she fell heavily onto a beer glass during a girls’ night out.

Researcher Penny Mellor, who lives in Coven Mill Lane, Wolverhampton, became involved as she knows a friend of the family.

She said: “There wasn’t time for her medical records to be sent over even if they had requested them. It is possible a prior medical condition could have contributed to Chelsea’s sad and untimely death, but without any prior medical history the doctors would have no idea.

“I find it baffling that the Greek doctors came to the conclusion they did at all. The pancreas is nestled behind other organs including the stomach and spleen which, if she had been hit repeatedly, would have been injured before the pancreas – and they weren’t.”

Walker’s father Patrick today accused the Greek police of “jumping the gun” in the case.
