A Walsall Conservative councillor and his son appeared in court today to face allegations of electoral fraud.
Councillor Mohammed Munir, aged 57, faced 11 charges of providing false information to the Election Registration Office in Walsall in 2008.
The allegations relate to the information on postal or proxy vote application forms for Palfrey ward, which Munir represents.
He appeared at Birmingham Magistrates Court and denied the charges.
His 30-year-old son Ali Hayder Munir faces three charges of providing false information and a charge of engaging in an act of applying for proxy vote.
He did not enter a plea today. The men, of Thorpe Road, Caldmore, were bailed to June 18.
