A teenager, who died in a car crash near Gnosall, has been named as Natasha White from Stafford.
Tributes were paid to the 18-year-old today, with her parents describing her as a “truly special daughter” who “brought so much joy into our lives.”
Natasha, a former pupil of King Edward VI High School in Stafford, died following a two car crash on the A518 Newport Road, two miles outside Gnosall.
The teenager, of Marsh Street, died at the scene of the crash, which happened on Saturday night.
Four other people were injured, including a 21-year-old man from Penkridge who was driving the Rover car Natasha was travelling in. West Midlands Ambulance Service said he had suffered serious and life-threatening head injuries but was in a critical but stable condition at the University Hospital of North Staffordshire.
A girl, also believed to be in her late teens, suffered multiple serious leg injuries. She was treated at the scene and transferred to University Hospital North Staffordshire for further emergency treatment. A third girl, also in her late teens, suffered leg and hip injuries and was treated at the scene and transferred to Stafford Hospital for further treatment.
The driver of the second car, a man believed to be in his late 40s, was treated at the scene for a shoulder injury before going to Stafford Hospital.
Natasha’s parents, Dave and Maxine White paid tribute to their “truly special daughter”, describing her as a “special sister to James, Chloe, Nathan and Jayden and a loving neice and cousin.” She was also described as a “very special girlfriend to Andrew.” They said: “You bought so much joy into our lives. Always had a smile on your face. Always wanting to help others.
“You thought the world of your brothers and sister — always helping out at bath times, homework, school runs. You were loved by so many and will be truly missed.
“Words cannot describe the pain we are feeling. You will always have a special place in our hearts. We’ll miss you so much. Words cannot express our pain. Sleep tight Tash, our sweet darling daughter. We love you so very much. Gone but never forgotten.”
Police are appealing to anyone who witnessed the collision or saw the vehicles prior to it, to contact Sergeant Alison Kent, or PC Julian Baskeyfield at Stone police station.
