Dog saved from blaze

Wednesday 28th April 2010, 11:30AM BST.

A dog had to be given oxygen and resuscitated by firefighters after being rescued from a house blaze in the Black Country.

The large boxer-type family pet was found unconscious when fire crews arrived at the home in Victoria Road, Cradley Heath.

Fire crews administered first aid treatment on the animal, giving it oxygen. Three more large dogs were also found at the home but were thought to be upstairs when the blaze broke out.

No people were in the house when the fire started just before 3.40pm yesterday.
