Fly-tip eyesore outside pub
Tuesday 27th April 2010, 11:30AM BST.
This is the mess that has been left by fly-tippers at a Black Country pub.
Bin bags, toys, bricks and cardboard are strewn on the drive next to The Railway Tavern at James Bridge, Darlaston.
Now Walsall Council is talking to Network Rail and two other landowners who are responsible for portions of land off Cemetery Road to take action to stop vehicle access.
Last year, tons of toys and tyres were removed from the messy cul-de-sac, once the driveway to James Bridge rail station, which was closed in 1965 under the Beeching cuts.
Pleck ward’s Councillor Dennis Anson said talks were being held between the council’s environmental health unit and the different owners to resolve the issue.
“The officers are trying to get the various owners to get their act together. What is needed is for concrete blocks to be put there.
“I have driven past and seen lorries and vans there. I can only assume that they were there to off-load rubbish.
“People have told me they have seen rats on the land,” Councillor Anson added.
Walsall environmental health manager Paul Rooney said: “Talks are progressing between the council and landowner.”

If it didn’t cost so much to dispose of rubbish legitimately, there would not be so much fly-tipping.
Just as cars can make as many journeys to the tip as they want (free of charge), the same needs to happen for vans 3.5t and over, it’s as though the council likes to bring problems onto themselves.

Agree 100% with your comments, but , have you ever heard of Full Stops and Comma’s . It’d make you’re letters much easier to read!!!

Slight misunderstanding, flytipper dave. My comments on punctuation were aimed at the WILLENHALL TAX PAYER not you.Sorry

Although I have NEVER flytipped I can understand why people do this. Having visited the local tip recently I was met with a list of rules and regulations and some miserable man who insisted on ripping open all my bags before allowing me into the site!!! I had already explained exactly what each bag contained! No vans, no trailers, etc…. bound to put people off disposing waste responsibly!! So much easier to load up the van and drop it somewhere else! Not the right thing to do but certainly an easier option than facing the rottweilers at the local tip!!! The council will collect some items for free but usually charge for garden waste etc….

A green and pleasant land.

I agree totally with flytipper dave actually.
If he’d like to post his home address I’ve got van loads of stuff I want to dump and need an address to drop it at.
Always someone elses fault and acceptable until you wake up to it outside your gaff, I bet.
