More wards closed by norovirus

Two more wards have been closed at Stafford Hospital because of an outbreak of Norovirus.

It takes the total number of closed wards to five, following the closure of three wards on Monday.

Two wards at Cannock Chase Hospital have also been closed.

Visiting hours have been cut to just one hour a day on the affected wards and people who have recently experienced nausea, sickness or diarrhoea are asked to stay away.

Interim director of nursing Julie Hendry said: “If it’s important for people to visit for longer, please speak to the ward sister.”
