Birmingham reggae legends UB40 made a special visit to a Midlands football club to promote their forthcoming open-air concert.
The band held a press conference ahead of the Spring Happening, which will take place at Walsall’s Banks’s Stadium on May 31.
Members of the group were in high spirits outside the Walsall FC ground yesterday afternoon as they arrived today to talk about the show which will also feature chart-toppers N-Dubz and Tinchy Stryder.
Thousands of tickets have been sold for the concert which is to have a capacity of 18,000 people.
The concert will also boast appearances from Specials frontman Neville Staple, and Midland Ska heroes The Beat.
Organisers have said the show is a massive coup for Walsall.
Formed in 1978, the Birmingham band had world-wide success. The band is still going strong with Duncan Campbell taking over from brother Ali on vocals.
