The dreams of a part-time music producer from Wolverhampton are coming true after the track he produced topped the MTV Dance charts.
Ravi Kumar, from Castlecroft, is now hoping his hobby will lead to industry fame and success. The 22-year-old sent off a partially-completed record he had produced to urban music group Party Dark, and it was instantly snapped up.
After Champion Records agreed to take it on, the group and Ravi are now celebrating the success of their efforts after it proved an instant hit with MTV listeners.
They hope the single – Is That You? – makes it into the top 40 of the official chart after being released on Monday. Ravi said: “Music has always been my dream. I started a university course but dropped out because my heart wasn’t in it.” The single is available at amazon and iTunes.
