Bogus caller before court

A woman has admitted posing as a bogus social worker to steal money from vulnerable people across the Black Country.

Ranjit Grewal is accused of a series of burglaries and thefts in parts of Walsall, Sandwell, Leicester and Birmingham.

The 41-year-old, of Leicester, claimed to work for Benefit Information Services as she carried out offences this year.

She was remanded in custody by Walsall magistrates yesterday to appear at Wolverhampton Crown Court.
