Music to stop yobs in tracks

Security has already been stepped up at Smethwick Galton Bridge in Oldbury Road after passengers were found to be vandalising and urinating in the waiting room in April last year.
Now passenger transport authority Centro is considering playing the music, which has been known to curb anti-social behaviour because of its soothing sounds.
It has been used with some success at waiting rooms at Shiremoor station in North Tyneside, Centro said.
“A consideration would be given to using it at this location if appropriate,” a document published this week by the body states.
The waiting room at Smethwick Galton Bridge station was locked after 6pm in April last year due to the problems.
