Top of the shop as bingo hall is back

More than 800 people flocked to a bingo hall in the Black Country for a first look at its £1.6 million revamp.

Bingo lovers queued around the block for the grand reopening of Mecca Oldbury.

The refurbishment has resulted in 22 new jobs in the town and the transformed hall is now offering a variety of modern twists on the game in a bid to attract younger customers, such as glow-in-the-dark and rock-and-roll bingo.

MP Adrian Bailey and the deputy leader of Sandwell Council Mahboob Hussain were among the VIP guests last night.
