A thug kicked his ex-girlfriend in the head and body after she jumped from a window, a judge heard.

Joginder Niner, aged 22, left Leanne Harper needing hospital treatment, Wolverhampton crown court heard.

Niner, with a previous conviction for attacking her, attacked after going out drinking with her on New Year’s Eve. Geoffrey Dann, prosecuting, said a row flared after they got home and Niner started hurling furniture around, making Miss Harper so frightened she jumped out of a window injuring both her feet.

Niner chased her down the street before launching the savage attack.

Niner of Hagley Road West, Oldbury, admitted assault. He got a nine-month jail term, suspended under supervision for two years with 150 hours unpaid work, and was told to pay £720 costs and £150 compensation.
