It may be chilly outside, but temperatures will be rising in Wolverhampton next month when legendary women’s entertainers the Chippendales take to the stage.
Two of the guys made an early appearance in the city yesterday when they popped in to the Express & Star to promote their forthcoming show at Wulfrun Hall on February 15.
And there were blushes and laughter all round as Kevin Cornell and Lind Walter turned up semi-naked to give women in the city a sneak preview of what’s on offer.
The duo, who had just jetted in from the USA, said they were thrilled to be coming to the Black Country and were looking forward to entertaining women in Wolverhampton next month. Flexing their pecs, the men were dressed in jeans and just collars and cuffs up top as they arrived at the newspaper offices in Queen Street.
Kevin, aged 32, has been performing with the Chippendales for the past nine years and says he loves every minute of it.
“I was a stripper when I joined the group,” he admitted. “I actually got involved after my mom went to a Chippendales show and suggested I should get involved – and I did just that.
“Some people have misconceptions about us but we are a theatrical and musical show, we are very professional,” Kevin added.
During the stage show, the guys have 16 costume changes.
“We dress as cowboys, firemen, pirates and doctors – we try to live out every girl’s fantasy,” said Lind.
“We plan to put on a great show in Wolverhampton, with a few surprises in store. It’s the ultimate girls’ night out, and I’m sure a fun time will be had by all,” said Kevin.
This year, the group celebrates 30 years of provoking hysteria among women and encouraging them to scream uncontrollably – and the guys say they hope that will be the case in Wolverhampton.
