Seventeen jobs to be axed at school

Seventeen staff at a Black Country school will lose their jobs when the axe falls on the doomed secondary, it emerged today.
Education chiefs say workers at Sneyd Community School, in Vernon Way, on the Willenhall-Bloxwich border, will be forced to take redundancy.
The borough’s cabinet agreed its closure last week, despite a campaign to save it
No pupils will be admitted to Year 7 or the sixth form from September, with existing pupils transferred to other schools.

Happy Memories of playing Netball there in the leagues many years ago.
What a shame educational establishments are being destroyed.
No doubt useless shopping mall, or housing again will be built there.
The destruction of education is widespread across Britain due to the need to destroy children’s ‘want’ to learn, to be educated and to achieve.

Cant Believe it!I was at this school in 80,s when I joined the school had only been opened 4yrs!At the time in this area it would have been the most up to date school lake etc…Carpets lockers …terific memories…only been back once…left area in the 90,s…This must be a serious setback …The school was top for facilities.
What as happened as this is a terrible shame..

Many big firms where more people have lost their jobs due to this recession and not even had a mention.

My brother goes to sneyd he’s in year 9 he realy like’s the school so do alot of other year 9′s they all want to stay there till 2012 by then they all would of left school and gone on to other things in life serco as given them 5 schools to pick from where its to far for them to travel its unfair on what they doing to the teachers and the kids
