Monday 24th October 2011, 12:51PM BST.
A £20 million housing development which will transform part of West Bromwich has been given a funding boost of almost £800,000. It is planned for the corner of Bull Street and High Street in the town.
Accord Housing Association has secured £765,000 from the Homes and Communities Agency through its affordable homes programme.
Building work is expected to start at the five acre site in January and the flagship scheme at the Eastern Gateway development in the town centre will feature 69 homes for rent and sale.
The new homes, which will include a range of family houses and apartments, will be constructed by Mansell Midlands and the whole scheme is expected to be completed by February 2014.
