Move for Walsall homes behind bowling club

An empty site behind a bowling club may be used for 10 new homes under plans unveiled today.

Developers hope to build seven two bedroom semi-detached houses and three three bedroom semi-detached homes behind Bentley Moor Club, Bentley Drive, Walsall.

Planning permission was granted in May 2007 to build a new bowling clubhouse and 14 homes. Now, permission is being sought for a revised scheme of 10 homes instead.

The site earmarked for development was formerly occupied by the clubhouse but a new one was built on the former bowling green, leaving the site empty.

An application by Eclipse Architecture on behalf of the developer says facilities in walking distance of the site include shops, pubs, banks, healthcare, post office and schools and the site is also located close to a bus route.” Walsall Council will consider plans in coming weeks.
