Asda Living Stafford store to create 80 jobs

Supermarket giant Asda will open a new store in Stafford creating around 80 jobs, under plans revealed today.

The store wants to convert premises on the Queens Retail Park, off the A34, into an Asda Living store.

A cafe will also be created as part of the scheme, according to a planning application lodged by retail park owners, Hercules Unit Trust.

The 37,000 sq ft development will result in a £2.5million investment in the town, the firm says.

Asda spokesman Oliver Jones said today the new store would open next year but an exact date had not yet been finalised, adding: “We have been keen to bring Asda Living to Stafford for some time now.”
