Students from Highfields Science Specialist School and Wednesfield High School have found out more about careers in manufacturing and engineering.

They took part in a practical workshop with Crown House Technologies, a sub-contractor on Wolverhampton’s £270m Building Schools for the Future programme which will see the complete rebuild of Highfields and the refurbishment of Wednesfield High.

A total of 16 pupils from the two schools took part in the event at Crown House’s offices at Ettingshall Business Park and were given an insight into Computer Aided Design.

They also had a tour of the factory and were given information about apprenticeships and a work book and certificate to form part of their record of achievement.

Councillor Phil Page, Wolverhampton City Council’s Cabinet Member for Schools, Skills and Learning, said: “Crown House Technologies has given Wolverhampton students a fantastic opportunity to find out more about apprenticeships in the workplace.”
