Business Skills (A Division of Stourbridge College)

Ideal for those wishing to improve their career prospects or get back into work, Business Skills provides professional guidance as well as an extensive range of training courses, from construction and health and safety to social media.

Each of the courses available at Business Skills is open to individual learners as well as to employees.

What's more, if a company can’t find a course that precisely fits its needs Business Skills will work with employers to identify their requirements and create a bespoke training programme.

Training is offered either onsite at company premises or offsite at an alternative regional training venue, allowing for greater flexibility and convenience.

Business Skills also offers specialist services for companies of all kinds, including business support and access to professional resources.

The ‘Job Shop and Enterprise Club’ offers services to employers who are seeking an apprentice, offering work experience or looking to recruit.

For individual learners, the Job Shop team supports those seeking employment, facing redundancy or considering retraining.

In addition, the ‘Black Country Skills Shop’ is a new facility at the Merry Hill Centre offering pre-employment training, store management programmes and advice to those in the retail sector.

For retailers, this Skills Shop also provides organisational needs analysis to identify skills gaps, recruitment and training and funded programmes.

Business Skills is proud of its status as a patron of the Black Country Chamber of Commerce. It is also one of the first colleges to be accredited with the Training Quality Standard and is a market leader in the provision of Health and Safety training.
