Harborne Golf Club, Birmingham
Harborne Golf Club is a delightful parkland course situated just three miles south west of Birmingham city centre and less than five miles from either junction 2 or junction 3 of the M5.
Harborne's 6,210-yard, par 70 course, features a landscape which offers a challenge to both high and low handicap golfers. Visitors, members and prospective members are all welcome.
The club's policy of having a membership of fewer than 600 means that, generally, the course is readily accessible from Monday to Friday. No tee time booking is required (competitions excluded).
Harborne Golf Club was founded in 1893. It moved to its current home in 1895 and the present course, designed by H S Colt was officially opened on October 6, 1924.
As a ‘members only' golf club, run by the members for the members, it promises a friendly, welcoming atmosphere and is the only golf club in Birmingham to offer members integrated online software - the IntelligentGolf system - to chart their golfing progress throughout the year.
The club boasts a lively and vibrant atmosphere, with a refurbished club house offering all year round entertainment. There are a host of social events throughout the year and conference and banqueting facilities are available to hire.
The tastefully decorated main function room seats up to 100 guests for large seminars and conferences, and for smaller events a private room with sliding screens can be set up for groups of around 16. Board rooms tables, flip charts and projector can be provided.
Harborne Golf Club is also a popular venue for wedding receptions. The club has substantial car parking, and there is a separate entrance to the function room which has a large vestibule, with en-suite toilets and a ladies' powder room at first floor level.
For special family events the main function room can accommodate up 140 guests, served by a large function bar which also provides waiter service.
The function room is enhanced by full-height glazing which allow panoramic views across the golf course that faces south-west. In warmer weather guests can enjoy drinks on the terrace in the sunshine, which also offers delightful photographic opportunities to record your event.
You can meet with General Manager Adrian Cooper, resident chef Nick, and food and beverage manager Patricia, all of whom are experienced in managing any type of event, and all of whom have a wealth of advice available on menu planning, wines, music and the detailed arrangements necessary to ensure that your event proceeds problem free.
