Sydney hotels up there with Rome as some of the world’s best

Sydney hotels are among the most sought after on the planet as more and more people flock to Australia’s famous city in search of something different.

While it may be famous for its Opera House, Sydney has a whole host of attractions to keep even the most excitable mind occupied for the longest of trips. The main problem when visiting Sydney is where to start as there are so many sights and attractions to visit.

Many holidaymakers make Coogee Beach one of their first stops as the ‘backpacker capital of the world’, as it’s referred to, is a real must-see location. With a host of beach hotels and a lively party atmosphere, not to mention great food on offer, it’s easy to see why so many people enjoy visiting. The view is spectacular and sitting with a cold beer in your hand looking out towards the ocean is recommended for every visitor.

If spectacular views are your sort of thing then a Sydney scenic flight may just be the ticket for you. The flights take you over the harbour for a real view of Sydney as well as taking in the wonderful beaches and picturesque views. It’s truly awe-inspiring and if you’re feeling really adventurous there are even glider tours, where for a brief period you can actually take controls of the glider yourself as you soar above Sydney. Don’t worry, though, it’s all properly supervised so you needn’t worry that you’ll be responsible for causing a major accident as there’s an instructor on hand to properly guide you.

If flying over the harbour, or even gliding for that matter, is not quite your idea of fun but you still want to see all the main sights, then you can always take a trip on the ferry which lasts for around half an hour and takes in all the harbour sights.

If you like to enjoy your food and maybe a drink or two, then a trip on the Hunter Valley tour may be just be ticket. Here you can experience the finest wineries, champagne and chocolate that Sydney has to offer. They love their food and wine in Australia and a Hunter Valley Tour will give you an idea why as there are countless treats on offer.

One of the more popular excursions operating in Sydney is the bike tour, where for less than $30 you can cycle around Manly and Shelly Beach and see some of Sydney’s surroundings. The coastal region has a lot to offer and there’s also the chance to discover secluded coves and find a real sense of adventure.

Not everyone likes to ride around on a bicycle when they go on holiday; in fact many people don’t wish to do much travelling at all once they’ve reached their destination.

Sydney is the perfect place for just relaxing, whether it be on one of the amazing beaches or in one of the many bars, there’s no need to go on an excursion to find a great time.

Sydney’s beaches are among the most famous in the World and with good reason, as they are a great mix of golden sands and beautiful waves.

If Australia doesn’t excite you, though, there are plenty of places closer to home to consider. While Rome may not be renowned for its golden beaches or waves, it is still one of the planet’s most famous cities and it isn’t hard to see why.

Rome as a city prides itself on being one of the best anywhere and the hotels there are a great example of this. Wherever you stay in Italy’s capital you’re guaranteed to receive excellent service as the Italians know how to cater for their guests. Rome is of course one of the most famous cultural centres in the World and remains famous as the centre of the Roman Empire.

There are many historic buildings in Rome and if you’ve got a penchant for a bit of history then you really are spoilt for choice. Many visitors make the Pantheon their first stop as the ancient building, which has been around for over 1,900 years, is still an amazing sight. There’s also the Colosseum of course, which was once home to the famous gladiatorial battles of the Roman Empire and now attracts thousands of visitors each week.

Another great sight that many enjoy is the Trevi Fountain, which is one of the city’s main attractions where everyone loves to throw a coin and hopefully bring themselves a bit of luck.

Italy is of course as famous for its food as it is for its culture and the ice cream at San Crispino is arguably some of Italy’s best.

There are hundreds and hundreds of restaurants in the Italian capital and the food is excellent wherever you go, as one would expect. Like the hotels in Rome, the restaurants pride themselves not just on fantastic food but also great hospitality and customer service.

If you’re feeling really cultural then you may want to take a trip to the Opera. The Teatro D’ell Opera Di Roma is a particularly exquisite building and its mesmerising architecture could actually distract you from the performance that’s going on.

Like Sydney, Rome has a great selection of wines available and if you’re something of a wine connoisseur then a trip to Al Vino Al Vino may be something for you. The friendly hostelry has over 500 wines on offer but don’t panic: there’s also plenty of food available to soak it up with.

If you like to take a good book away with you on a trip then perhaps a visit to one of the many book bars in the city may be for you, where you can enjoy fine wine and relaxing music while reading your favourite novel and even mingling with writers.

Both Sydney and Rome have a lot of different things to offer anyone visiting them but they both provide the same amount of excellent customer service.

Of course, these aren’t the only destinations worth considering. If you want to spend the least amount of time travelling possible, why not hop across the Channel and stay in Amsterdam hotels? The Dutch capital has long been a weekend break destination for Brits thanks to its picturesque canals and world-renowned museums. The World really is your oyster!
