Red Dragon among the stars of Top Gear Live 2011
Wednesday 7th September 2011, 10:37AM BST.
A 1308 bhp Monster Truck with an air-cannon mounted on the back that can fire a fridge-freezer 80 yards will be one of the stars of the Top Gear Live show at the NEC Birmingham.
The Red Dragon, a custom-built Ford 350 Super Duty Monster Truck, boasts a bespoke 9.5-litre Chevrolet engine and burns through a gallon of methanol fuel every 50-60 yards.
20 feet long and 11 feet tall, it hits the scales at four-and-a-half tonnes and, if that isn’t enough, it also has a 600psi air cannon which can shoot any object weighing up to 650kilos out of the back – scooters apparently go quite far.
The vehicle will be among the many attractions at the Top Gear Live show, with Clarkson, Hammond and May overseeing the action and the Stig displaying power laps around a track.
The show runs from 11 – 13 November at NEC Birmingham. Tickets start from £49 and can be purchased on the Top Gear Live website.
