McCarthy keeps the faith
Saturday 2nd January 2010, 11:29AM GMT.
Wolves boss Mick McCarthy would take Premier League survival now – and believes the current squad can achieve it.
McCarthy has countered recent quotes attributed to owner-chairman Steve Morgan saying he “wouldn’t be happy finishing fourth from bottom” by maintaining staying in the top flight is the only aim as Wolves enter 2010 in 15th position.
While anxious to avoid any conflict with Morgan, McCarthy feels no-one at the club should be looking any further than staying in the Premier League this season – and believes the fans think the same.
“I didn’t see his comments but let me tell you, I’d take survival now,” said the boss.
“Go and ask around Wolverhampton what they would all take – they’d say 17th and survival. I’ll regard it as good enough.”
Chief executive Jez Moxey says Wolves are hoping to make “one or two” signings this month. McCarthy remained tightlipped on what transfer funds he has, but he is confident Wolves can achieve their aim even without any arrivals this month.
“If the club have said we want to make one or two signings – and they have – then absolutely, I’m confident,” he said.
“But as to what there is to spend, I won’t get involved with talking about that at all. We do have specific targets in mind, but as I sit here today, there is absolutely no news.”

I think Steve Morgan is the ‘manager’ of Wolves now and Super Mick will have to do what he is told or he will go the same way a Megson. Morgan will need a left back and somebody who can pass the ball forward [on the ground] from midfield to stay up.

What can anyone say to the garbage comments made by the Wolves manager ( what a joke ), claiming that survival is his prime objective.
Maybe, that is all he can say as a clueless muppet, as it would seem that the owner is not parting with any more of his cash ( another joke )
There are only 20 teams in the Premiership, all stronger outfits than Wolves, and another 10 CC Championship teams that are capable of doing Wolves over at the moment.
Without some radical changes now, starting with replacing the Manager, and there are several available now, and bringing in 2/3 experienced Premiership players, we are history.
Neil Warnock of Palace is desperate to escape the clutches of the looney Palace owner, who is not paying players, and pointing Palace towards administration, despite how well Warnock has done with the Palace team this year.
Get him before Bolton, and get him to bring his little star winger Moses and a couple of his strikers, and point Mccarthy to South East London, as I am sure he will get on well there

get mm’s list of wanted centre backs and throw it away. Then get a new list off virtually anybody else and sign two. Got to be an improvement as mm clearly hasn’t a clue!!!!
1 or 2 signings? – yes please but make them experienced pros Mick who know the Premier League inside out and can help our younger players through the coming months for rest assured, it will be tough and there will be a lot of pressure and no one at Molineux, fans or club officials alike want to see Championship football next season!
Boring Mick,no ambition,,you set your bench mark very low,,scrape through, spend no money, and sell a load of season tickets for next season, get us mugs to shell out once again while you keep your money in your pocket,,why cant we have a manager and management team that want more than just scraping through.
this current squad IS NOT good enough mick, we leak goals and throw away points we have no goal power.
Three things stand out in MM’s comments in the press:
1. He seems convinced that returning players will give the team the boost it needs to stay up.
2. No one should believe that the Club will be bringing in anyone of any consequence.
3. Setting a low standard of 17th place will ensure we remain embroiled in a fight for survival to the end of the season.
The question is, however, what is the point of being in this League if we never aspire to something higher? Lets say we scrape the 17th spot – what is the plan for next season? Are we going to face another season of indifferent performances where we continue to struggle, fail to develop any creativity and provide our forwards with goalscoring opportunities?
Where do the fans fit into this scenario who pay good money to be entertained and expect better than 17th place every season like Bolton, Blackburn etc?

unfinished business = 17th

2 – Ask any supporter of Reading, WBA, Newcastle etc and they would happily settle for “survival”.
We are still a championship team playing in the Prem. The club WILL NOT go blindly into spending tens of millions and end up like Pompey. By the same token some of the statements coming out of Molineux are from cloud cukoo land –
mOXEY – “We will learn from last time and Not do what WBA did? Really Jez?????
MM – “The players are tired thats why I chnaged 10 players”
So what’s happened at the Blues then Mick –
9 games UNCHANGED and a formerley retired full back at age 36 playing in all 9 – ask them about their fitness Mick, ask them if they are tired!!!!!!!
I rest my case.

You do the Math!
This season is only about survival. To stand any chance of moving into being an established Premier outfit, we need at least 2 more seasons of Sky TV money in the bank
Otherwise its Yo Yo time and within 2 seasons its goodbye parachute… plenty of examples of Clubs struggling with that burden that are now in Div 1. Reading the latest club who are heading into oblivion
Report abuse
Micks right, I would accept survival from this squad one he has created, and Mick’s failure to consistantly pick his best players, Milijas for example.
1-5 Please note. It’s half way through the season,we have had a few ups, more downs. But it
is still the half way point. We have played some of the top clubs already and not too badly. Now we must focus on the teams around us,pull some points and settle into the mid table range. This is a good goal to have.
Going into the season I had no other hope than staying in the Prem. W-ton is not exactly the draw to better players.B-ham,Man and London
is a bigger draw to potential players so it must be to a club,ie Wolves to stay up and attract top quality footballers.
I think we will all be happy at seasons end and
start building for the 2010-11 season.
Sorry Mick I disagree with you. The current squad will not be good enough to survive and we need more than one or two signings.
No quality back up for the wings, no back up for Milijas and Ward and no decent striker to partner Doyle. More ambition and action needed please not just statements
Report abuse
You’re all idiots on here. Some of you want to try going to games!!
These views are not representative of the majority. Mick and the club are going about things the right way. He didnt say our aim was 17th, he said he’d take 17th……wouldn’t you?!?
We do need signings but it won’t be conducted through the E&S even though they wouldlike it to be.
If anyone believes Neil Warnock is a better manager than MM they are seriously lacking somewhere.
Expect 2 signings none of which have been predicted in advance and a finish of anywhere above the bottom 3 is fine with me.
I don’t understand why Steve Morgan doesn’t show more enthusiasm for the future of Wolves, perhaps he simply intends to sell the club on at a later date having established a platform for survival. If he has no long term ambition for the Wolves I think he should tell the fans and not treat us like mushrooms, the MM survival strategy must reflect SM’s ambition. The club needs a boost not a negative comment from a manager who seems out of his depth strategically and tactically in the Premiership.
Will idiots like Bob Wolf (probably the worst club supporter in the history of foot!) say that 17th isn’t good enough when he constantly predicts relegation?
17th, for 2009-2010 and 2010-11, would be fantastic. After that, we must aim for Europe.
I agree with 14 halfway through and 15TH not bad going. I feel 3 quality signings in this window will keep us up. wolves fans take a lot of pleasing if we were top 8 somebody would find somthing to moan about.

What a plank McCarthy is if he thinks this Championship side is good enough for this division,no wonder Morgan is worried.
Any Wolves supporter would be very happy with a 17th position and premiership football 2010/11.BUT how many seriously believe that the current squad is well equipped to give us this goal?. More chance of Snow in Malta. How many clean sheets have we kept so far?How many goals scored from open play? Take away Doyle and the Strikers/Midfield have so far yielded 6 goals between them.
This is probably the most open premiership for many a year and in all probability we will never have a better chance of survival than now,PLEASE MR MORGAN grasp the opportunity with both hands and invest in the 2/3 quality players who could make so much difference.

McCarthy might like winding the fans up OK but its not a good idea to try it on The Chairman

20: yeah i can see why you think Mick is a plank. It is not as if we have won the championship this year. Or held our highest league position for 29 years.
Yep he really is a plank. I tell you what would be a good idea. Why dont we then go and sack the guy who got us here. What a great idea.
do you lot not remember the state the club was in when mm came to us and within 3 years we am in the premier league and in 15th if thats not good enough then go and support another club up the wolves and keep the faith

I read the other day that we were looking at buying potential other players with P.L. experience but that the club would baulk at paying the going wages of 20K per week, well strike me down with a wet towel, if Mr Morgan is not prepared to spend this type of money each on 2/3 good players with Premiership Experience what chance has M.M. got of bettering our 15 position at the moment,,,, absolutely nowt. It beggars belief that Mr Moxey and Mr Morgan think they can put our beloved Wolves up there with the best and only want to spend peanuts to get there, it don´t work that way fellahs.
If you are passionate Mr Morgan give Mick the dosh to get some quality players. If you don´t and he keeps us up give him a medal because he will have earned it.
Paul.

No.2 get back down to the poorthorns
Report abuse
No.16 I totally agree with the comment about Morgan, he just isn’t vocal enough if at all about the club he owns and we love.I can’t really seeing us buying anyone that’s going to make much of a difference in the window, I seriously think we are trying to do it on the cheap based on the fact that a few teams are in financial turmoil in the prem at the moment. If this is the case and we do survive then what next season…same again? If we don’t survive then we are back to square one, and I don’t think we would bounce right back either. We could be taking a massive risk here, theres a thin line between success and failure, and from all the stuff coming out of molineux I feel we’re teetering right on the line .
Wordsley Wolf – you’re a sad, bitter plank!! Get someone to read to you the vast majority of comments posted here and all of them (bar yours of course)are saying that we need players to survive. We (the majority) do not want mediocrity (that means average), we want a plan that shows survival and potential to break into the top 6 in the next three years. Angry wolf, great comments, that those of us with a brain agree with wholeheartedly!

MICK!! HOW DARE YOU!! Don’t you realise that even though other teams spend mega millions and you have a much smaller budget you are still expected to win the Premier League, FA Cup and Carling Cup this season. Next season you must do the same, plus win the Champions League, Super Cup and World Club Championship. If you are not capable of ALL of those, just clear off and leave it to Neil Warnock to do it for us instead.
What? What? ……Oh ……. sorry, ……my wife just woke me up. Perhaps other wives / partners will wake up a few more on here before their dreaming drives out another good manager.
Like it or not, survival is what all teams coming up to the Prem should realistically aim for in the first season. Anything above that is a bonus.
For me the aim is still to be in te prem next year, so like MM i’d take 17th come may 09.
However I think were all gonna be a bit disappointed if we think MM will sign players with prem experience and better quality or pace than what we got now. I think it will be more of the same, championship hopefuls signing and possible a foreign signing???.
At least this will give us some extra legs to “put shifts in” and chase and close down teams as we wont see much of the ball.
LA WANDERER – if Wordsley Wolf is a plank then you’re a complete shed. Another season in the prem will see us attract better players and improve the young inexperienced ones we have already. It’s debateable whether this squad is good enough but for the first 5 or 6 games the squad was still learning so i’d say we’ve done OK so far. I doubt whether many of you on here actually go to the games but if you watched the Man City game from your armchairs then you will see that we competed and should have got something from the game (that’s if you know anything about football). The strikeforce is adequate but we need a couple of Milijas type players and Jarvis & Kightly fit and playing like last season.

Youre right we did win the Championship but the Premiership is a completely different animal the void between the two has been apparent to the most loyal Wolves fan,we must look forward if we intend to be a player in this division and recruit some prem experience into the side our current side is not good enough.
Maltawolves, take away the goals of the highest scorer at many teams, and you would find the same thing. It’s true that Kights and Ebanks-Blake have been disappointing, but they could yet come good.
Do any of you realise that when you say £20K per week is peanuts, that is £1 Million per year. Multiply that by a squad of even 25, and you are talking megabucks. Add to that the amount of players some of you want at say £5-10 Million each, (plus the £2-3 Million per annum you want to pay them each) and you would need to have a Saudi Prince or equivalent. The Sky money, shirt sales, etc and gate money would nowhere near service those amounts plus ground maintenance and subsidiary workers. It is just so much easier on Championship Manager, isn’t it. (Or even Monopoly.) They say that Morgan had about a fortune of £350 Million from memory, so how long would that last if some of you had your way on spending it? Please be realistic. (Okay, I’m an accountant, and we are all boring, but at least we would have a club and team in ten years with my method compared to some of yours.)

We are a worse team than last year, all the new players apart from Doyle are no better than what we already had, Kightly injured hasn’t helped nor has narrowing the pitch, what is that all about?

Two months ago (after the Blues non-performance), I’d have settled for a respectable showing and NOT finishing bottom; so, to be talking at this stage of survival as a realistic target, has got to be the absolute limit of my expectations. Thus far, I think McCarthy has negotiatited some questionable transfer dealings and tactical decision making- problems, largely, of his own making. In this respect, I suspect Mick’s used up much of the goodwill, and benefit of the doubt, that he’d (deservedly) won over the course of his managerial tenure; so possibly Morgan’s perceived reticence to back McCarthy with hard cash, only reflects a general lack of confidence respecting our prospects and the manager’s own abilities. However, we’ve been down this road before- reaching a position of (relative) strength, only for the Club’s backers to prove mealy-mouthed when a show of boldness would display a united front and determination to match big talk with positive action. Even allowing that we’re highly unlikely ,(and assuming that we’d ever try) to attract ‘big-name’ signings, any Boardroom worth it’s salt would surely realise that significant expenditure would be amply repaid in the event of survival? The 18 or so million spent, not altogether convincingly, in the summer would undoubtedly pale next to our earnings over just a single season in the Premiership. So far, popular opinion seems divided over the worth and extent of Steve Morgan’s input to date; now would be as good a time as any to dispel doubts as to his level of long-term commitment. If McCarthy has targets in mind, he should be fully backed in his pursuit of said signings; only then could his capabilities be properly assessed.

Why can’t you Mick hater morons go away and support another club, you read something in the paper and instead of coming up with something positive you have to have a go at the Manager by your snide, nasty remarks – not one of you have got the guts to go up and tell him to face, I bet you don’t even go to matches! and you have the audacity to call yourselves loyal fans? ok sack Mick, spend the millions that you want and watch has we go bankrupt – then we will all have to suffer along with you idiots, you realy do make my skin crawl with some of your irresponsible comments, thank god we have the 3 Ms running our club, because you lot would sink it.

I recall an established premier clubs fans were not to happy with their club finishing mid-table, the club is Charlton bet those moaning minnies wish that Charlton was in the same postion as the Wolves. I’ve seen the club go bankrupt twice so, I would be happy just to survive.
We have a young side, they will stop up and they will get better. MM has made two good signings in Doyle and Milias, and he has made some bad signings as well. If MM can make two good signings every year the club will improve. I also hope he puts Ebanks on a diet he needs to lose 10lbs.

it will be interesting to see who Moxey brings in over the next week or so. i still think we should be selling the championship chaff off to whoever comes for them! As far as im concerned the jury is still out on whether Mcarthy should be our manager. Like other comments above i agree that Moxey and his mates will NOT pay prem wages. He should have not said anyhting at the start of the season re ‘we wont do an albion’. We do need 3-4 decent quality players to bolster us, some of the names mentioned are championship players unproven in the prem. Why hasn’t the Hoff played yet? It amazes me that they shed out £2.6 mill for the guy n he sits on the bloody bench every game while watchin the likes of SEB huffin n puffin runnin around like a headless corpse!!! If the management do not buy or buy 1/2 unknowns that no-one has ever heard of n we stay up i’ll eat my bloody hat!
What we need is leadership from a manager and board who are willing to put their money where their mouth is. Like i said before Moxey don’t disclose who wolves are interested in because they still only pay championship fees. If we do commit to 17th then that will have to do but looking beyond that folks there is still that resistance lurking next season that Moxey still wont pay. It may be a case of, ‘well we did it last year on the cheap, we’ll do the same again’. I don’t think he n the board have a wider ambition. What they don’t say is louder than what they do say!
Keep the faith. The boys may do it.
Come you Wolves.

We are one point from serious trouble, 2nd bottom is one point away, relegation looms. Am I negative or realistic? I run a successful company and we concentrate on winning business, from time to time we stare into the abyss, that is when our drive and will to win get us through, but we are always aiming high, we want to beat the opposition, what is wrong in believing that on any given day you can prevail? I thought that sport transcended pragmatism, it should lift the spirit and inspire. Mick, Steve, note.

I’ve supported the Wolves for twenty years, and hold this club close to my heart. I’ll openly state now that I don’t go to matches on a regular basis. However, I am truly loyal to OUR club that is Wolverhampton Wanderers.
It seriously saddens me when I stupidly read what some of you folk stick up on these message boards. There is no point in causing a stink and winding genuine supporters up. We should all be in this together, striving for the same thing. After all, it is the same dream we’ve all been dreaming for so many years.
Why can’t you all just believe, giving the team and back room staff support from every angle. Attempting to drive out another manager is not the answer.
Mick McCarthy has given this club and its supporters something to cheer about, and he’s done it in a short space of time. Imagine what he could achieve for us given the time and the support.
Wrongly directed hatred and resentment doesn’t help. You certainly won’t unnerve our leader, but the damage you foolish few could do to the masses on the terraces may prove to carry consequence.
So how about you all remember what attracted you to this fabulous club in the first place, and enter 2010 with a little belief and bona fide support for our boys – you know who you are.

When will the FA step in & deduct points from Portsmouth, surely 3 months on the trot without paying their players on time would have to breech code of conduct laws within the game somewhere?? Also will the FA ask Arsene Wenger to explain his “wholesale changes” to his team selection for the FA cup tie because the League position holds more imprtance. What was that you said about McCarthys changes at United Mr Wenger!!
I believe there are a few clubs on the wobble in the EPL, Portsmouth definitely, West Ham, Hull City, Liverpool, Blackburn, Burnley possibles. So any of these clubs could go into admin with 10 point deductions.
I would like to see Wolves compete against the Bluenoses for identical players as they stole a march on us with Johnson & Dann who have turned out to be excellent signings from the CCC. So it proves a point you can get good players from that league but unfortunately our manager buys the rubbish no one else wants, Doyle excepeted.
Anyway lets wait & see what the transfer window brings or doesn’t bring. Heres to a solid 2010 season run in & EPL survival. Hope we get more honest officials for the second half of the season!!

I do not expect the club to spend money it doesn’t have, and that is why we have the team we have – I respect the players for doing the best that they can do with the ability they have, you can never ask more than that.
Moxley and Morgan are running a business, and if you don’t at least break even, I think everyone knows what will happen in the end.
But MM I am not so sure about, I just don’t understand playing players out of position, or is it just that we have such a shallow first team squad we only have about 16 players who are available?
The fitness of the players I have to also call into question, why do they keep on fading in the last 20 minutes?
Maybe I’m old school but for every game you play you start with the best 11 players you have available.
To say that you expect to lose a game before a ball is even kicked is totally unforgivable, if you go into a game wanting less than at least a point for your efforts is loser talk.
Sure you are going to lose games I except that, but to wave the white flag before even the first whistle is so sad.
I expect no great signings during the transfer window, due to the financial constraints, but if I see that white flag out again I will be so disappointed, pulling the wolves name down to it lowest level.
Playing the reserves against Man Utd, felt like playing in the Forth Division, Wolves is better than that. If it ever happens again it says something about the 3M’s.

This message is to the club – Firstly MM i do not believe = that our current squad is strong enough to ensure that we survive, i believe it is a gamble are you prepared to gamble rather than strengthen and keep the money in the bank?
SM have you JM convinced Mick we have a squad capable of surviving come the end of the season without adding to the team? if this is the case then i believe that you have no faith in Mick and you want to replace him or your heart is not in the job, no passion or desire belief i could go on but you get the general feeling i have.

Brereton,I admire your steadfast defence of MM BUT surely even you mate cannot defend 6 goals in 20 games from the strikers/midfield ( Doyle excluded). As regard expenditure/Investment i am not advocating breaking the bank or going into debt, however in a season when we probably have our finest chance of survival then surely spending some of the 25 million we reportedly have in the bank will bring its just rewards/returns.To all of the we are 15th people look at the current position as it could easily become on Sunday evening (10th).Wigan 1 game in hand 1 point needed to go above us,Bolton 2 games in hand 1 point needed to go above us.Defeat at West Ham coupled with other results going against us could easily see us (God Forbid) back in 19th,It really is that close. That Brereton my good friend is why i advocate the need for at least 2 quality signings this month.

I’ll buy you a pint at Tranmere tonight and we can discuss my lack of commitment etc – oh that’s right you won’t be there will you – muppet!! Try going to a game and then come back and comment on your hero Mick’s managerial ability.
Yes Mick has got it right a few times this year but he has got it wrong more often;
1) Reserves at Man United
2) Not signing a left back and playing his son
3) Not playing Milijas to create chances
4) Signing poor players like Surman/Halford
5) Playing a back 5 away at Chelsea (3-0 down after 20 minutes)
6) Jarvis/Milijas/Ebanks on bench against Man City – brings then on when the game is already lost
7) Not signing a decent centre half
8) No Premiership experience as promised
9) Continuing to play his favourites regardless of position – Henry, Foley, Ward
10) Square pegs in round holes
And the biggest failing in my opinion was not to provide cover for the injury prone Jarvis and Kightly – we all remember the season in the Championship where these two did not play together and it was shocking football and nothing going forward – why hasn’t Mick seen this and acted?? Because he is clueless and would prefer to play Ward and Keogh on the wings!!

To all the moaners
Was hulls squad good snough to stop up last year?! But they did! Was burnleys squad good enough on paper at the start of the season to reflect where they were?! But they were there! Is the birmingham squad that much stronger than last year to justify their current league position and form?!
Ok our squad is far from the best in the prem but its by no means the worst. If every game we play like we can and give 100% then we will survive and build on this next season.
Mick is the right man for the job, didnt see any of you calling for his head in may.
He took on a massive job when he came here look at the squad he inherited off hoodle there was only about 16 senior pro’s and half of them no good.
Mick has turned this football club around in a short space of time and as long as he is the manager of this club and wears the badge of our beloved wolves then for gods sake support the man, SQUAD and club!
Super Mick

29 – this is becoming really tedious.
How am I bitter? I’m happy with 15th place?
Where did I say I was happy with the team we currently have? Even a tool like you can see we need improvements.
I despair sometimes of you armchair fans. You want to break into the top 6 within 3 years? We need money for that.
Maybe you could contribute by buying a season ticket? A shirt? An air-freshener even?
No. Thought not. Because you are the very worst type of fan.
A moaning, non-attending, ungrateful fool who knows next to nothing about the modern game.
Keep your moronic comments and garbled logic to yourself. You’re an embarrassment.

I bet the people of Leeds are pleased McCarthy isn’t their manager!!
As for Beckford coming to Wolves, my advice to him is go somewhere where there is a bit of ambition, not here.

IS MICK CAPABLE? WE KNOW HIS RECORD AT SUNDERLAND HOW ABOUT THIS FROM WICKEDPEDIA RE MILLWALLL>>>>>’His disastrous loan signings of the grossly underachieving Russian internationals Sergei Yuran and Vassili Kulkov from Spartak Moscow, who each received a £150,000 signing on fee and were being paid five times the wage of the rest of the first team, would later be cited as one of the main reasons Millwall were eventually relegated’.
Whatever happens the CLUB (particularly MIck and Moxey) LACK AMBITION. This is a realatively weak prem and we should be safe – no problem. A big error was not to purchase qulaity and experince – despite all the false promises.

68-english exile-read 67 above, this applies to you as well.
How on earth you can comment from afar I will never know, you can’t tell what is going on just by watching tv and reading the papers, stop in your armchair and leave the supporting to the real fans.

la wanderer i take it from your name you are in LA! if so how can you be in the majority when you do not attend games on a regular basis?and what was that-you have a brain Ha,ha,ha,ha,ha,ha,ha half a brain and you would be dangerous.

Having read so many comments against the club it makes you wonder whether you are Wolves fans at all. No I do not trust Moxey or Morgan who had his son mascot at Anfield and did you notice his name is Red.And I agree that Mick seems to struggle with the finer points of the game but I want Prem football next season so I will take 17th as well

29)LA WANDERER this brain you have, do you and angrywolf a a dozen or so of your other mates take it turns to share it ?
Majority ? The one who’s currently using this brain; do a head count and you’ll discover you’re not in the majority…..now come on it’s Spanish Ray’s turn, stop pushing in Jiwal !

maltawolves, I keep telling you. I have read Breretonwolfs comments for some time. Every time he speaks I am convinced he is AKA Moxey. Look at his previous comments last year when we were struggling after our great start. Once you get onto the two M’s back and his he is, on his computer at work. I would like to see some criticism somewhere of the management from him, but it never comes. He only appears when he is critised.

has henry EVER played an attacking ball he is letting our side down.

Maybe just maybe we should have a bit of ambition and try to do better than just survive

76- It’s a case of mind over matter. I don’t mind, you don’t matter.
You obviously don’t read very well. I have said on several occasions that I thought that the decision to narrow and shorten the length of the pitch when playing two wingers was, in my opinion, flawed, and if possible should be reversed. Again in my opinion this has affected the confidence and form of Kightly and Jarvis.
What I don’t do, and will never do is nitpick over every word that is supposedly said by the manager or players of the team I support (and you clearly do not suport) and deliberately misconstrue them, twist them or write negatively about them. If that draws from your single brain cell the conclusion that I am Moxey it shows just how pitifully sad you must be. Why don’t you just be like me, and get a real life. If you are a Wolves fan, why do you NEVER say anything positive, or even constructively in opposition to what is happening at the Wolves?
Incidentally, was I wrong last season when I said McCarthy would get us promoted? I believe we are now in the Premier League. Sadly, I don’t recall any of your comments from last season, as I seem to matter a lot more to you than you do to me.
You obviously have no knowledge about football. I find it amazing that I now have a stalker. (I don’t own any rabbits, by the way.)

Johnwolf what a stupid boy you are!!
You think you are the only one ”qualified” to make a point of view because you go to the majority of games. True I no longer live in Wolverhampton but over here I see EVERY Wolves game live as it happens AND I also see the opposition. No like you in your gold tinted glasses.
This team is NOT good enough to survive this division and the manager wouldn’t figure in the top twenty managers we have had at Molineux.
I look forward to reading your ”informed” comment.

To put the situation into perspective. All teams coming up from the Premiership are at a disadvantage with respect to playing staff and finances. One can see Mr Moxey’s problem. Spend big money, fail, get relegated and possibly end up like Portsmouth.
The Chief Officer has to rely on an astute manager to buy quality players for as little as possible. Does Mr McCarthy meet these requirements?
He has a poor track record of buying players who don’t perform. Result: He doesn’t play them thus wasting the initial expenditure and has to pay their wages for no return. In addition, possibly loses more money when trying to move them on.
He is a stubborn man who won’t take advice or listen to criticism. He consistently uses players who are clearly substandard.
He tends to make matters worse with the supporters by making nonsensical comments which are obviously contrary to what can be seen on matchday or what has been previously stated. Example: “We have the players to keep us in the Premiership- job done” Then he says “We are still learning” Now he says “I would take survival”
Every football commentator( Hanson, Laurenson, Gray) all make the same point. “Where are the goals coming from”? The current strikers are obviously not good enough.
Compare all the above with the Birmingham manager who was 7 points behind us in the Championship and is now in the top half of the table. Is he looking to “take survival”?
Obviously a more astute manager than ours. Over to you Mr Morgan.

Brereton, We all have opinions, has we have stated on here many times before.I think narrowing the pitch given our current squad was the right thing to do.Playing two wingers on a wide pitch in the Prem would put immense pressure on our two in the middle.I dread to think what Arsenal would have done to us on a wide pitch,I guess we might find out when we play them away.Sadly Kightly and Jarvis are not good enough to compensate for this. Both struggle to beat any fullback in the Prem.

They’m good ay they…the Wolves? I support ‘em. And they are 15th in the Premiership…brilliant! Anyone else support them too?….maybe we should create our own page(but just let the supporters use it) Probably be pretty quiet though…not many on this page!!!

WOOOOAHHHHH !!!! its all hitting the fan on here !!
there is no doubt we’re up for the cull, and this precarious position is making us all edgy but we’ve been playing some decent football and even i havent got much ammo against our beloved mick.
we are also in a position where even a short burst of wins would see us rise to midtable and financially we are better poised then most around us to add the personnel required for just such a push.
It will be a big mistake if we dont strengthen in this transfer but I have all confidence in Morgan to do whats necessary to see us survive.
COME ON YOU WOLVES !!

Not sure who we might or not buy/loan in this transfer window. I think all Wolves supporters whether they are happy clapper or the usual suspect moaners would not want to see this club fail to stay in the EPL, & you would think our trusted management would be looking for some decent recruits. But if we have to stay with what we have will it be so bad. Surely these players would have to reach a rich vein of form before much longer. Lets also look at who we have coming back. I for one can’t wait to see our forgotten man Dave Jones back in the line up now he is over his injury. Dave must surely rank along side Milijas for the cultered left foot, so there will be competition there. Made Mick will play DJ on the right!! Kightly & Edwards to return, everyone is disappointed with the way things have turned out for Kightly, but you don’t lose those silky skills overnight. Keogh is unlucky & will be ready by March. Why is everyone knocking & having a go at young Andrew Surman. Give the lad a break, this is all very new to him & the kid is still raw. When do we get young Sam Vokes back from Leeds?? Not sure what else MM can do, what has happened to Izzie??? This talk of Gerard Houllier coming to Wolves, where did that come from?? In what capacity, as manager or director of football.

17th Would be a great position to finish this season! Lets keep the faith in MM!
Who would you all like to see us buy this transfer window?
Id like:
- James Beattie
- Craig Gardner
- Victor Moses
- Robbie Keane (loan)!!!!!!!!
