Store’s fury at blackout
Tuesday 29th December 2009, 10:13AM GMT.
Furious bosses of a Black Country superstore could seek damages after it was blacked out by a power cut on Boxing Day.
The Apollo 2000 gas and electrical shop at the St John’s Retail park in Wolverhampton had to close for almost two hours at the height of the sales rush.
Store manager Mr Martin Wyatt said: “It cost us thousands of pounds in lost trade and could not have happened at a worse time.”
Staff ushered out 80 customers after the power cut stopped tills working.
