Monday 28th December 2009, 10:00AM GMT.

Fire engineFirefighters had to cut four rings from the swollen fingers of a woman in Wednesbury.

Crews from Bilston were called to Hall Street at around 2.45pm on Saturday to help the 53-year-old woman.

Crew commander Danny Hinds said: “The rings were stuck on her finger – I don’t know whether she had knocked her hand and her fingers had swollen.

“We used some small cutting instruments to get the rings off. We had to hold her hands still while we cut her free.”
