Dam to be drained

The plug is being pulled on Chasewater dam as part of a £2.5 million restoration project to make the structure safe.
Chasewater dam is set to be drained so vital repair work can be carried out. Work on the Staffordshire reservoir will get under way on January 4.
Since 1998 around £500,000 has been spent keeping the eastern dam maintained but major improvement works are needed to meet health and safety requirements.
