While families around the region celebrated Christmas, new mothers were welcoming their own little festive miracles.
There were seven born at New Cross Hospital in Wolverhampton on Christmas Day including Niamh Rosanna.
It was the best day of mother Sarah Oliver’s life as the 40-year-old had been told less than a year ago that she would probably never have children.
Weighing 8lb 8oz Niamh was born at 2.14am by emergency Caesarean section. Sarah, of Highley, near Bridgnorth, who is married to 37-year-old Daniel Walton, said: “Niamh was a Christmas miracle.”
Christmas babies run in the family for Nicola and Matthew Thomas from Clayhanger, Walsall.
Their son Luca was born at 12.59pm on Christmas Day in Walsall Manor Hospital and shares a birthday with his aunt Lisa.
Lacie-Mai Wheale made an early entrance after 20-year-old mother Carra Powell, of Old College Drive, Wednesbury, fell over on the ice on Wednesday. Lacie-Mai was born at the Manor hospital weighing 8lb 11oz.
