Time to map out a plan for Villa's future

The three Wolves M’s in harmony
Tuesday 22nd December 2009, 11:30AM GMT.
Wolves chief executive Jez Moxey has insisted “there are no problems at all” between chairman Steve Morgan and boss Mick McCarthy after the Manchester United episode.
Morgan was known to be initially irritated at McCarthy’s team selection after making 10 changes for the 3-0 defeat at Old Trafford. Molineux sources have confirmed the tension provoked by the manager’s selection, with Moxey cast in the role of peacemaker.
The Wolves owner and chairman has maintained his usual stance of not commenting on club matters despite seeing McCarthy criticised.
But Moxey did move to bring an end to the furore by maintaining the relationship between chairman and manager had suffered no lasting damage.
The chief executive said: “There are no problems at all between Mick and Steve. As has always been the case since he arrived at the club, Steve has a very strong relationship with the manager and that remains.
“Nothing should be read into the fact that the chairman has chosen not to say anything publicly. Steve has consistently and deliberately kept a low media profile since he took over, talking occasionally rather than commenting on day-to-day issues. That duty falls to me.
“The chairman is the busiest man I know, but dialogue regularly takes place between the three of us. We work hard on maintaining healthy relationships within the club, because it’s important to be unified.”
Moxey handed praise to McCarthy, his staff and players for turning around the club’s fortunes with three wins from the last four games following the 1-0 defeat to Birmingham.
He said: “All of us congratulate Mick and the players for the way they have responded with such positive results since the Birmingham game.
“Of course there is a long way to go and we know there will be disappointments ahead, while we also recognise this is another three wins in our quest to stay in the Premier League. Nothing is more important than that.
“It’s a nice to be in this position.”

Good to see everything is okay with the 3 M’s.
Morgan put his faith in Mick, and so far Mick has justified that faith. He made a difficult call last week, but he got it right again.

Well said Mr Moxey.
Hopefully the bored scouse Journalist that had nothing better to do in writing this story can now concentrate o getting his own manager the sack, a certain Mr Benitez.
We’re 12th, playing well, have a great manager & board so 2 fingers to anyone who is doom & gloom!
A couple of additions to the squad in Jan and a safe 13th or 14th finish I predict. A certain Robbie Keane may be available too, how fantastic would that be!?!
Merry Christmas to the lads, good luck at Liverpool (Whoever Plays!) and cheers to a successful 2010!

I will never forgive Moxey for giving our seats away against the albion, and i will never forgive Mccarthy for dropping ten players against Man Utd. These two incidents will never be forgotton and has shown complete disrespect for our club and our fans

I don’t always agree with Mr. Moxey but on this I do. “The article that was printed on Mr. Morgan silence is not so golden”. From what I see of Mr. Morgan is that he lets Mr. Moxey and Mr. McCarthy get on with the job in hand and that is to keep Wolverhampton Wanderers FC in the Premiership. Could not his silence mean that he does not want to become involved in any negativity and not that he his not happy with Mr. McCarthy. Mr. McCarthy has already stated that his interest lies with Wolves and keeping them in the Premiership message to the press for goodness sake let him do his job and stop keep getting on his back.

I will never forget Moxey for giving our seats away to the albion and i will never forgive Mccarthy for dropping 10 players against a weakend Man Utd side , They have both shown complete disrespect to our football club and our fans.

It is interesting to see Jez Moxey putting up the ‘all is rosy ‘ front at Molineux and we as fans could expect nothing less but we are not all fools! Something has probably been said but is being kept ‘in-house’ as there is no way either Morgan or Moxey are going to criticise McCarthy in public and particularly not through the E&S!
An apology from the club to all of those fans who made their way to Old Trafford would not go amiss and would also go some way to appeasing those same fans for the money they spent but the club displays an arrogance that it does not care what the fans think and this occasion was just one of many over recent times.
Should McCarthy decide to ‘do it all over again’, please give all the fans a warning BEFORE travel and tickets are purchased – it will save one hell of an uproar happening again!

More spin from the top. I heard that Morgan was fuming after the Birmingham game and gave MM three games to save his job.

I’d like to see Morgan’s reaction if that useless line up was announced away at Anfield!!
Muppet Mick got it wrong big time and ‘Bonus’ Moxey is still busy counting his promotion cash.

This is starting to get a bit boring now i would much rather read “WOLVES 12th AT CHRISTMAS”.
What a top Job Mick and the rest of the staff have done in 2009.

COULD ALL THE HAPPY CLAPPERS KEEP THEIR INCESENT GARBAGE TO THEMSELVES UNTIL SAFETY IS MATHMATICALLY ASSURRED.
SO WE BEAT BURNLEY..BIG DEAL, WE NEARLY ALWAYS DO ANYWAY. WE’RE 12TH…WHOOPEEEEEE…BY THE END OF THE MONTH WE COULD BE BOTTOM.
MCARTHY DESERVES NO JUSTIFICATION FOR TUESDAY..IF OUR PLAYERS ARE “TOO TIRED” TO PLAY 2 GAMES IN QUICK SUCSESSION..THEN WHAT A POOR MICKEY MOUSE SQUAD WE REALLY HAVE!!
IN MICK & MOXEY WE DO NOT TRUST..AND WE WILL BE RELEGATED IN MAY..WE’VE HAD A DECENT FIRST HALF OF THE SEASON..BUT OUR LACK OF EXPERIENCE AND QUALITY WILL TELL IN THE END..IT ALWAYS DOES.

On what possible basis was Morgan known to be irritated? Was Moxey peacemaker? All sounds very doubtful to me. Good to fill a few column inches though eh?

After the big disappointment against Birmingham, our team were relying on wins against fellow strugglers Bolton and Burnley. No one would have given Wolves a win against free scoring Tottenham and also Man Utd even if our manager opted for an overall change. He knew better than anyone that our players needed a rest and he was right with the results we got but of course we are far from securing our survival as only 3 points separate us from the danger zone. This is an indication how difficult it is for teams like Wolves with mostly inexperienced players to cope with the rigorous demands of the Premiership. Wolves fans should be aware that even teams with heavy expenses of the likes of Liverpool, Man City and Tottenham are not sure of qualifying for Europe. Their wage bills are phenomenal and we must not follow them as our team have been rescued once from extinction and should not spend foolishly. I am sure Mr Morgan and Jez Moxey are running the club on a sound basis. We must remember that M.McCarthy built a team from scratch after the departure of several players and after 3 years won the Championship. Some says it was too early to get promoted but still I believe our young players are ready to learn in order to be able to secure survival. Let’s hope the second part of the season will be a little bit easier for us. Good luck to all Wolves fans and have a very Happy New Year.

burnley result does not make ammends or vindicate mm. Saturday and monday this week so a day less between games. If the manager confirms what he already said then no outfield player can play in both! lets see what happens!

We may have a win against Burnely but the qulaity of football was dreadful. Not once did we create an opportuniy through passing the ball on the deck. As far as being 12th it’s an inflated position given the teams below us have games in hand.
