Fly-tippers return to site
Tuesday 22nd December 2009, 11:30AM GMT.
Fly-tippers have begun dumping rubbish around a derelict Walsall pub just months after tons of children’s toys, tyres and dozens of bin bags were cleared.
The spot in Bentley Mill Way next to The Railway Tavern has become a hot spot for fly-tippers and lorries have even been spotted unloading commercial waste at the site.
The problem got so bad in the summer Walsall Council had to send out diggers to help remove it all.
But now the problem is slowly returning with fly-tippers refusing to stop dumping around the area and now the council is considering legal action against the landowners.
Councillor Garry Perry, of Walsall Council, said today: “Discussions are continuing between the council and landowner in a bid to resolve this issue.
“We are keen to see action taken sooner rather than later and enforcement action is being considered.”
Councillor Dennis Anson said: “It has been a real problem there.”
