Couple hurt in carjack attempt
Tuesday 22nd December 2009, 5:29PM GMT.
A couple needed hospital treatment after being attacked by a gang of men during an attempted car jacking in a village near Kidderminster.
The male victim had parked his van in Austcliffe Road, Cookley, around 11pm on Saturday and was waiting for his girlfriend when the vehicle was approached by four men.
They started throwing cans at the van and when challenged by the man two of the group assaulted him. One of the men then jumped into the van and started the engine.
But after a brief struggle, the owner was able to retrieve his keys from the attackers and the yob got out of the van.
When the man’s girlfriend arrived she too was beaten by the men who then fled.
Both victims suffered facial injuries and were taken to the minor injuries unit and Kidderminster Hospital for treatment.
