Villa’s anxious wait on Heskey

Villa are facing an anxious wait to find out whether Emile Heskey will be fit for their crunch festive fixtures.
The striker hobbled off with a groin problem in the first half of Saturday’s 1-0 win over Stoke, with replacement John Carew coming off the bench to net the winner in the second period.
Heskey was due for a scan on the injury today – leaving major question marks over his availability for the games with Arsenal and Liverpool on December 27 and 29.
Boss Martin O’Neill said: “It is his groin. The doctor has had a look at it and he will have a scan to see what has happened.”
