14.15: Afternoon everyone. Get those comments rolling in as we look forward to an exciting afternoon of football. It’s a terrible afternoon so far for Wolves as Portsmouth are 1-0 up at home to Burnley, half way through the second half. Mick’s men are bottom as things stand on goal difference (minus 15 compared to Portsmouth’s -10)

14.22: The front page of the Sun today proclaimed the World Cup group C as EASY (England, Algeria, Slovenia and Yanks – meaning our friends across the Atlantic). In which case, this afternoon on Expressandstar.com is, er, WABVW (Wolves, Albion, Blues, Villa and Walsall). It’ll have to do for now.

14.29: Steve Madeley has the Albion team news – watch the video here.

14.33: Make that 2-0 to Portsmouth with only a few minutes to go. Wolves need at least a point today to get off the bottom of the Premier League.

14.36: Want team news from Molineux? Get it here.

14.40: Team news for Walsall is in from Nick Mashiter. It can be found here. Brendan McLoughlin has the Villa team news.

14.50: The final whistle at Fratton Park has confirmed that Wolves are now bottom of the Premier League. As Yazz sang so memorably, the only way is up. Or will Megson’s Bolton condemn Wolves to further misery?

14.54: No changes to Alex McLeish’s team after last Sunday’s win at Wolves as they look to extend their unbeaten run to six games and pick up all three points at Wigan. Birmingham: Hart, Carr, Dann, Roger Johnson, Ridgewell, Larsson, Ferguson, Bowyer, McFadden, Benitez, Jerome. Subs: Maik Taylor, Fahey, McSheffrey, Queudrue, O’Shea, Carsley, Vignal.

14.56: Not long to go til kick off. Any comments Wolves fans?

15.00: Bolton lost 5-0 last time they were in the Midlands but that was against a flying Aston Villa side. A messy 1-0 win would probably suit Mick today, given Wolves’ recent form.

15.01: Action under way.

15.03: Baggieno1 says: “Come On You Baggies,Make us Proud AGAIN………..BOING BOING”

15.04: GOAL! Wolves 1 Bolton 0. Dream start at Molineux. After two minutes, Jody Craddock fires home to lift the pressure. He cannot stop scoring!

15.08: As things stand, Wolves are on 13 points in 18th place, just two points behind Everton. But there’s a long way to go.

15.09: Maltawolves is happy. “Great start super free kick from the Serb.Jody well offside WHO CARES,SEB  nearly 2.Come on me babbies”

15.12: Steve is also chuffed. “Get in there, come on wolves….”

15.14: Goal! Villa 1 Hull 0. Richard Dunne is found by James Milner and shoots into the back of the net. He capitalised on some poor Hull defending after a period of sustained Villa pressure.

15.15: It’s all kicking off at Wigan. A melee over an alleged Wigan elbow results in a massive furore before the referee calms things down.

15.20: Still 0-0 at Pride Park despite Luke Moore finding the net – it is ruled out for offside. Walsall v Southampton also still 0-0.

15.25: Neutrals’ favourite Jimmy Bullard of Hull has gone off injured at Villa but it’s not said to be a recurrence of the problems he’s had over the last year or so.

15.29: Goal! Villa 2 Hull 0 James Milner puts the home team further ahead.

15.32: Goal! Wigan 1 Blues 0. Charles N’Zogbia cuts inside Liam Ridgewell and fires home to give the home side the lead.

15.33: Goal! Walsall 0 Southampton 1. Ex-Walsall loanee David Connolly scores for the visitors.

15.40: Goal! Walsall 0 Southampton 2. The Saddlers fall further behind.

15.42: Goal! Derby 1 Albion 0. Paul Dickov gets the goal for the home side.

15.45: Into stoppage time for our games. Get those comments in.

15.49: Half time at Molineux and Wigan.

16.10: Gary Cahill has a good early chance for Bolton but cannot steer his effort goalwards. It remains 1-0 to Wolves.

16.19: Goal! Wigan 1 Blues 1. No-one deals with a Sebastian Larsson free kick and the ball flies past everyone and into the Wigan goal. Roberto Martinez will be fuming.

16.22: Goal! Wolves 2 Bolton 0

16.22: Goal! Wigan 1 Blues 2

16.24: Phew. Right, Wolves first. Milijas lets rip from 30 yards and nothing is going to stop it, not even Bolton’s veteran keeper. Mick took a risk by playing the midfielder – who is doubting him on that one now?

Meanwhile, Christian Benitez puts Blues 2-1 up as McLeish’s men come from behind to lead.

16.25: Goal! Walsall 0 Southampton 3 Lambert increases the pain for the Banks’s faithful.

16.26: Goal! Walsall 1 Southampton 3 The fightback starts here! Darren Byfield scores his 100th goal.

16.30: Goal! Wigan 1 Blues 3 Larsson curls one in to make the three points all but certain to go to Birmingham.

16.37: Goal! Wolves 2 Bolton 1 Nervy around Molineux after Bolton pull one back. Johan Elmander scrambles the ball home to put the home fans on edge.

16.42: Goal! Derby 1 West Brom 1 Simon Cox fires home to bring Albion back on level terms.

16.52: Final whistle at Molineux – Apologies, we’ve had a few technical problems but Wolves have all three points.

16.54: Final scores: Wigan 2 Blues 3 – Gomez scored one for Wigan to pull closer but it’s not enough to deny Blues another win. That’s 14 points out of the last 18 for Birmingham.

Villa 3 Hull 0 – Carew fires in a late penalty after a foul on Ashley Young

16.55: Derby 2 Albion 2 Albion went ahead through Durrans only for Campbell to pull one back for Nigel Clough’s side. Not over yet.

16.57: Final whistle at Pride Park. Di Matteo will not be happy about dropping two points with seconds to go.

16.59: Forgot to say, it’s all over at Banks’s. Finished Walsall 1 Southampton 3.

17.05: Tim Nash’s video verdict:

Our midfied is too negative, Henry & Edwards are not playing well together. Castillio should start with Milijas and the Hoff instead of SEB who looks well off the mark – why bother signing these players if we don’t use them. We are now bottom but Muppet Mick puts his pride before the Club!!

Much better performance from the lads Miljas making a huge difference to the midfield,Jarvis and Doyle making a big impact,Defence still looking rather fragile backing/standing off the ball to much.Almost cost us Kransac missing a very good opportunity.Need the 3 points to leave us 3rd bottom tonight but more importantly well within sight of the bottom pack.

Saying for weeks now that McCarthy should play Milijas, and proven today. Man of the Match!!!

Edwards is all effort but no quality. Sorry, I like a trier but it’s not good enough in this league. Henry was OK in the first half and completely faded in the second. He should have been dropped for castillo. I have been saying this for weeks too, and thicko will get the message eventually.

Only worry still now is Seb to me is a yard off the pace but I can’t really see any options up front.

Finally, defence is still VERY shakey. Zubar will stiffen it up when he’s back. Hanneman is a much better goalie than Hennessey. Hennessey is massively over hyped. Let’s face it, Hannman was released on afree by Reading.

Finally, Craddock and Bera as a partnership just don’t work to me. They can’t defend set pieces, this definately needs sorting in January!

    Onwards and upwards!

    Credit where its due.
They club deservedly took a battering over the blues game but got a well deserved 3 points after a very committed team performance which is the least we should expect!
Milijas showed what he can do and now needs to do it every week.
Beating Bolton was massive step in the terms of morale.
If by some miracle we can stay in touch until January the board must put some serious funds in place to stop us dropping back into the championship!
    Well done today lads!

Well done the team today. I admit that I am selfish, it would be kind to give McCarthy another season, but I *DON’T* want to get relegated!

5 wins in 50+ managing Premiership games is not an impressive record. We have witnessed too often a naivety in selection and tactics that tells anyone with intelligence that McCarthy is out of his league.

I expect that Mr Morgan will also realise that to protect his investment he needs to get his own man in before the January window, so get ready for the announcement!

Good result but sorry, if anyone believes MM can sort the mess out they must live on fantasy island. After all he was the one who caused it by persisting with his favourites and square peg methods. Milijas is a class act but needs support as the midfield is too lighweight. Where was Castillo today to give us a bit more quality. Pleased we won (at last)but unfortunately reality will strike home again next week. Mind you according to Jez and Mick it doesn’t matter because they don’t expect to get anything against big clubs. Inspirational comment and says it all, shows a complete lack of ambition and unfortunately it looks like we are stuck with the pair of them unless Steve Morgan acts. Ah well dream on.

I think MM is a really good bloke etc, etc.I would really love it if he could establish Wolves as a Prem club.I feel however, that we will not cut it.We need SEVERAL PREMIERSHIP EXPERIENCED players in the january window. If we don’t it is the end.
On a more positive note,we should do ok in the Championship next season…..

Great response to last weeks debacle they were definitely up for this one going by the way we played in the first half.
Milijas,Doyle and Jarvis were our best players today they continually worried Bolton’s defence but in the second half we allowed them more time and space making for a very nervous finish.
For January we need a couple of midfielders who can take hold of a game especially in tight situations as Henry and Edwards are not solid enough and we need at least another good central defender one who commands the box and has a settling effect on our defence as I feel we are suspect when the ball is on the deck our defenders are easily turned and back off giving sides a sight on goal.Overall very happy with the result as we have some very tough games coming up and this result will give the lads some confidence.

We were fortunate to win today, little has changed or improved from previous performances other than Milijec having a crack from 30yds and getting a goal.
Several players tried harder including Edwards, Ward & jarvis…Doyle while he tries all day is really only Championship standard, and not really the answer to our striker problems, we should sell Ebanks Blake who is out of his depth and was left on far too long, Keogh did not get a run ,neither did Foley…why ? and the Hough showed some promise for the few minutes he was let loose.
All together we were lucky, nothing has changed and there is little or no light in our tunnel.

Have noticed to my dismay that Ebanks and Doyle fall over far too much, they as strikers are far too light, maybe the return of Chris and recall of Folkes would solve this
