Neighbour from hell terrorised OAP

Wednesday 2nd December 2009, 11:30AM GMT.

Debbie Hanson 2 JAH 1This is the woman who terrorised an 85-year-old widow in a 10-month campaign of torment.

Neighbour from Hell Debbie Hanson blasted out loud music until the early hours, shouted and swore at her elderly victim and banged on the walls of her flat with a hammer. The widow lost two stones in weight due to the stress and only slept for an hour each night.

Hanson, aged 20, appeared at West Bromwich Magistrates Court yesterday after pleading guilty to harassment and criminal damage.

Inspector Dale Randle from Tipton Police Station today described the mother-of-one as an “extremely difficult character” who went out of her way to terrorise the pensioner.

“She has shown no remorse,” he said. “She is completely oblivious to it all.

“In interview she admitted she purposely went out of her way to target the old lady.”

Hanson has now moved out of the block of flats she shared with the pensioner and is living in Wagon Street, Old Hill, Rowley Regis.

She arrived at court wearing jeans, a tracksuit top and smoking cigarettes.

In court, she was described by her solicitor as “not the sharpest tool in the box”.

Hanson’s victim today spoke to the Express & Star, describing her ordeal as “terrible”.

The 85-year-old said: “There were always lots of visitors and the language was appalling. I confronted her three times but stopped after the third time because I was scared of what could happen.”

The victim, who does not want to be named, added “I would just lie there awake looking at the ceiling. I didn’t know which way to turn and I felt uncomfortable in my own home.

“All I wanted was a little respect.”

“In court, (Hanson) was described by her solicitor as “not the sharpest tool in the box”.”

Clearly, the £63 billion a year that Labour has sunk into trying to raise education standards in Britain was wasted on this one then.

Sad!Sad!Sad!Wasn,t there anyone to help BOTH
sides?I mean how can a girl of just 20 be allowed
to go on doing things like this? The girl obviously
needs treatment!Secondly……didn,t the old lady have
any family/relatives/neighbours to help,or had she
just been pushed aside and left to fend for her-
self?I do wish the old lady peace and quiet and
    a merry Christmas!

A classic example of the degeneration of the lower end of society. A ridiculously over-generous welfare state that rewards laziness combined with the bleeding hearts and liberal do-gooders have ensured that discipline and morals have been all but eradicated to allow scum like this to be dragged up.

    Jim Gull,

    A 10-month campaign of torment?????????

What a shame Sandwell Council didn’t have a Warden to go round to see Debbie Hanson, and to issue her with an on the spot fine for anti social behaviour, but of course Debbie Hanson wasn’t a defenceless young mom feeding ducks, this one was highly likely to bite back!!!!!!!!

The girl has obvious learning difficulties because she does not comprehend what distress her actions have caused.

Maybe it would be a good idea to get the girl to attend an appropriate behavourial programme linked to her retaining the right to live in another council problem.

This action has not solved the problem, just moved it for another poor tenant to endure. Where is the logic in that?

Set her up on a council house in Afganistan, I’m sure her behaviour would go down a treat over there.

In cases like this why can’t they just stop any benefit she is obviously taking advantage of, the very real threat of destitution would surely engage her brain into thinking about the results of her actions.

I’m all for a welfare system, but there must be a limit to its ‘generosity’

Those veterens must be so glad to of laid down their life for creatures like this to benefit from their sacrifice
