Wolves’ Zubar out of Blues clash

Friday 27th November 2009, 11:00AM GMT.

WOLVES V SWINDON 10 GD 25Wolves defender Ronald Zubar is out of the big derby clash with Birmingham with suspected ankle ligament damage.

The 24-year-old right-back suffered the injury in his first training session back from a thigh problem yesterday.

Zubar’s condition is said to have improved already from treatment, but not in time for him to be declared fit for the visit of Blues on Sunday.

Boss Mick McCarthy confirmed the news earlier today, but the club haven’t yet put a time span on his absence.

The Frenchman left the training ground on crutches with his right foot in a special boot to aid his recovery. Zubar’s new blow means he misses his second game in a row after being sidelined last Saturday’s 4-0 defeat at Chelsea.

McCarthy may now recall Kevin Foley for only his third Premier League start, or he could move in-form Richard Stearman to the right and recall George Elokobi.

    Sensible Steve

OR HE COULD PUT MANCIENNE AT LEFT BACK AND FOLEY AT RIGHT BACK!!!

Knowing Mick, he’ll go with Halford again! Doh!

Whatever players are in the team, nothing less than 100% is required, we are better than bham, and proved that last season, so a win is the only result we can accept. Im behind you and i am sure all fans are, so come on my babbies!

    We,aint,good,enough

Doesnt matter who we play they are all champoinship standard players, i am afraid we are down and the novelty of the premiership is for 1 season in 8. Money spent poorly promises not kept, they have let us down again and 11000 pieces of plastic will not make a diffrence. Would prefer a pie and a pint

Well after the way foley and elokobi played for the reserves in the week neither of them should play – with foley being my preference.

Stearman and Mancienne in the full back slots surely ?????

Earlier post from Mick about the Blue Noses 2 brilliant CH. The old saying is “its too late to latch the gate after the horse has bolted”. Where was our ambition when we allowed the Blues to gazump us with the Scott Dann transfer, surely we could have matched the salary, Roger Johnson too expensive at 5mil. Says it all really. If the club didn’t match the ambition of Mick McCarthy, surely Mick McCarthy should have resigned on principal???
