HomeServe announces hopes for new office
Tuesday 24th November 2009, 11:30AM GMT.
Insurance broker HomeServe today announced plans to create more new jobs as it plans another office block to cope with massive growth in business.
The expansion has been seen both at home and across the world.
The company already employs 1,400 people in the Black Country with three offices on the company’s Walsall campus.
Chief executive Richard Harpin said today: “We are nearly full and, committed to Walsall as we are, we are looking at how we can get another building up there to accommodate further growth.
“We have expanded our workforce by more than 10 per cent over the last 12 to 18 months, and as we continue to grow obviously there will be more new jobs in the pipeline.”
The expansion plans were revealed today as HomeServe, which sells policies covering home emergencies from leaking pipes to wasps nests and broken boilers, announced a strong set of results for the six months to September 30.
Revenue soared more than 25 per cent to £135 million, with pre-tax profits rising 14.6 per cent to £18.9 million, along with a 14 per cent increase in policies sold to 9.6 million and an eight per cent lift in customers to 4.4 million.
