Anelka won’t be keeping Jody awake

8007243Wolves defender Jody Craddock might have a sleepless night tonight – but it won’t be for worrying about Nicolas Anelka and Chelsea’s galaxy of stars.

Preparing night feeds, winding and changing nappies are once again top of the agenda in the happy Craddock household after the arrival of baby Toby.

The four-week-old is brother to eldest son Joseph and Luke, and, with the older of the trio ill with a stomach bug at the moment, Craddock could be forgiven for falling asleep tomorrow at Stamford Bridge with all the late nights he’s been having

He said: “It’s been hard through the lack of sleep, but it’s a fantastic time in my life to have a newborn and another boy to add to the family.

“It’s hard work because you’re up through the night and my eldest, Joseph has belly ache which makes it even harder. So one of us is up all night with the baby and the other with Joseph, but it’s all worth it in the end.

“I change his nappies, wind him and feed him, and he’s been pretty good. My hands are full with the boys as soon as I get home, but it’s a nice distraction to get home and take your mind off things.

“I’m a family man and it’s what I live for – to have a healthy family is all you can dream for.”

The 34-year-old never concerns himself with the opposition too much, after confessing worrying about Anelka is the last thing on his mind.

He said: “I need to concentrate on my game and make sure I’m sharp and winning my headers and tackles, rather than concentrate on theirs thinking ‘how am I going to stop them?’

“That’s all I’ve done in my career and it’s a method that’s worked for me, so hopefully it will continue to stand my in good stead.”
