Four held over takeaway row

A Stafford takeaway has been sealed off and four men arrested after violence flared in the town centre.
One man was left needing hospital treatment for a facial injury after trouble broke out at Ali’s Takeaway on Newport Road.
The premises was sealed off this morning while police carried out investigations at the scene.
Scenes of Crime Officers were carrying out a detailed forensic investigation of the shop and the area outside today as police began their enquiries. Detectives were studying CCTV footage of the scene.
Faye Casey, spokesman for Staffordshire Police said: “Officers were called to the location just after 9.30pm last night following reports of a disturbance inside the shop.
“The ambulance service had also been called out. One man was taken to Stafford Hospital for treatment to a facial injury. He was subsequently arrested on suspicion of assault.”
She added: “Police also arrested three other men at the scene, all on suspicion of assault.
“They remain in police custody this morning, to be interviewed by officers.
“The shop was closed at 10.20pm to preserve the scene.
“Scenes of crime officers are in attendance at the location, together with officers from the division’s CID team. A full investigation into the incident is now under way. Officers will be carrying out inquiries in the locality, and gathering CCTV footage.”
John Hawker, from West Midlands Ambulance Service added: “We were called to Newport Road in Stafford at around 9.32pm to reports of an assault. We sent a rapid response vehicle and a land ambulance. We took one patient to hospital.”
