I was at this gig, not my first purple but possibly my last. There was a distinct lack of excitement from start to finnish. Where was the drum solo? Where was the audience participation?

Dad rock ermm – Not sure that’s all true – I’m 54 and yes a dad. I took along my 13-year-old son.
He was unsure when we first arrived – liking some of the famous titles – but we have all been to concerts where you love two songs but the rest and the concert stinks.
However the concert changed him – he loved it, especially the guitar and organ solos. Black Night and Smoke on the Water were superb
Its in his Top 10 concerts along with AC/DC , Alice Cooper etc.
Would we go again – yes both of us – sorry deep purple you need to go for another 30 years to keep my son happy?
PS The new Arena – I thought was quite good – not disappointed.
