Jody’s keeping the faith

8132wolves-tourJody Craddock has dismissed the effect of dropping into the Premier League’s bottom three after insisting Wolves have the belief to survive the drop.

Saturday tea-time’s 4-1 home defeat to Arsenal left Wolves six games without a win with leaders Chelsea to follow after the international break. Mick McCarthy’s side were left second from bottom after wins for Hull and Blackburn at the weekend.

But Craddock, a veteran of Wolves’ valiant but doomed stay in the Premier League in 2003-04, insists there is no psychological effect of being in the relegation zone for the first time this season.

“We’ve got another massive game coming up, then we face Birmingham after that, so we’ve got to put this behind us,” he said. “We don’t need to worry about the position we’re in, we just need to keep playing our football. Before Arsenal, we had drawn three games in a row and we were all thinking about how fantastic we’d done.

“We’ve just got to continue that form and keep performing. We’ve definitely got enough – we’ve got a good bunch of lads, and a young, hardworking team.

“We know it’s not going to be easy – it’s going to be tough, but we’ve got enough here to see us through. There’s nothing we can do about the game – we lost this one – but we have to work towards the next game.”

Team-mate Dave Edwards added: “All that matters is where we are in May.”
