Hundreds of disgruntled fans last night at the Civic. Corporate diners not served dinner until just before 1am…. Tyson didn’t appear until after 11:15pm…. by this time people had to leave to catch there last trains and move cars from car parks that were closing. Shocking!

Was at the Civic last night to see Tyson and did anyone else think how bad the organization of the whole event was. From starting an hour behind time, having a rock band and a Pink impersonator trying to whip up a male dominated boxing crowd. 15-20 minute breaks every 30 minutes and that’s just for starters. Did VIP’s even get feed?

The whole event was a shambles. He didn’t come on until 11pm and the supporting acts were useless. A lot of fans deserved better

Shambles. A refund should be offered for all.

Was at the Civic last night to see Tyson and I can’t be the only one who feels the event was badly organized. From starting an hour late, having a rock band and a Pink impersonator trying to whip up excitment in a crowd of male dominated boxing fans. 15-20 minutes breaks every 30 minutes, and that’s just for starters. Did the VIP’s get any food?

Refund is right. I’m emailing the promoter Jimmy Clyne promotions next.

ONE OF THE WORST NIGHTS OF MY LIFE AND ABSOLUTE JOKE. I didnt witness the “absolute storm” when he arrived on stage, having to leave the get my car out of the LOCKED car park. A joke and a waste of £50 – didn’t even get to see him.

VIP treatment? more of a disgrace, a complete waste of time and money. The organisers should be ashamed. We did not even get to eat as we had to leave to get our car out of the carpark before it closed (12am), but then again who wants a 3 course meal after midnight?? Robbed.
This was a wedding present to my new husband too, so sorry hubby.

I was there last night, the whole event was something of a shambles. I think they completely oversold the VIP area which was the genesis of all the slowdown problems that night.
I got in at 6:20 and didn’t get to even cast eyes on the man I paid to see until at least 8:00. After that, we were bundled into the main hall and had to contend with endless amounts of people who had run to the front and were blocking the view. The side acts, the auctions and the ‘bullying’ from the presenter were appalling.
It was great to finally see Iron Mike and have a picture taken with him, but that was all the VIPs ended up paying for – a photo.
Dinner was late and unimpressive and I cannot imagine how angry regular ticket holders were, having to wait five hours before seeing the man they came to see.
ABSOLUTE RUBBISH. Uncomfortable, late, disorganised, far too noisy and completely underwhelming.
But I did get to see Tyson and shake his hand.

I wasn’t there as I was watching Stewart Lee at the Wulfrun, but I spoke to some of the bar staff working the Tyson event and they were also very annoyed by what happened. I feel bad for everyone who felt let down by what happened.

When the MC came on he told the crowd that Tyson was backstage listening to us, when infact he never even turned up till after 11pm! it was a total waste of time and money, ripped off!

sorry from us, we were just told to play, we’re totaly gutted with all this. Unfair that a tone deaf editor calles us tuneless because of the event being a wash out. We are far from it. search us and listen to our music.

This was easily the biggest shambles and most unproffesional event that I have ever attended. The whole thing was a joke and was lucky not to have descende into a riot. People had arrived from 6.30 (doors opened at 7.00) and were made to sit through fours hours of rubbish before Mike made an appearance. The compere was better suited to being a childrens entertainer, who kept telling the crowd to ssshhh. He made a comparison of his own life to that of Mike Tysons which was hilarious!! It was amazing to think that Mike Tyson was waiting to come on stage and the compere was auctioning 3rd rate signed memrobilia for an hour that was of no interest to anyone at all. The promoter should do everyone a favour and refund the money, sack the compere and go and work in a circus something for which he would be much better suited. Mike tyson is a compelling and confident person on stage and is clearly well rehearsed at giving lectures and seminars, he was completeley stiffled by the compere who continually asked the most stupid and basic questions and wasted our time and Mikes time. 100% rubbish!!

Sorry 4th street, no offence to you but really how short sighted of the pathetic excuse for a promoter to put your kind of act in that type of environment did he really think that the crowd would appreciateyour music? That junk that was auctioned was just a joke, who got the proceeds? It was mentioned before that they were for charity but there was no mention of that on the night. Mike Tyson should be advised to change or cancel his agreement to work with such amateurs and I am sure his advisors will be telling him this. Boxing fans want to see and hear the man in the flesh and go home without all the rubbish. The comperes questions were pathetic. Even Eubank walked out.

I was a VIP there. I can honestly say that Mike Tyson is a class act, he’s great with people, kids and crowds.
He should learn from this shambolic representation of an event and never work with any of those people again. The compere was a weapons-grade bellend and 4th street (who are very good) were hated by everyone for delaying Tyson. Not that it was their fault.
4th Street – get in touch with your legal team, because this event has damaged your rep. A lot of people feel negatively towards you now.
When it came to questions, Mike Tyson even suggested putting a mic in the audience to which the compere was completely bemused. What an amateur, and his pathetic buddying up to Tyson was cringeworthy. Tyson came to see the people and he was denied access, only those that threw themselves chaotically at the stage got to ask questions.
I feel culturally embarrassed by this experience and would like an official statement from Jimmy Clyne promotions.
