Glassboys supporters warned over traffic woes

Friday 30th October 2009, 10:54AM GMT.

Fans going to the biggest game in Stourbridge FC’s history face traffic chaos as the club says there will be no parking at the ground for the cup clash with Walsall.

There are also likely to be problems around the ground in Amblecote High Street on Sunday as 1,210 home tickets go on sale.

Walsall have had an allocation of 490 after the club managed to boost ground capacity from 1,250 to 1,700.

Bosses vowed loyal fans will be first in line for tickets. Spokesman Nigel Gregg advised using the pay and display car park on Birmingham Street, near the town centre.

Tickets will be by cash only from the clubhouse in High Street from 11am on Sunday. Mr Gregg said season ticket holders will be able to buy one adult or concession ticket, plus one full-price adult ticket. Known supporters who have not claimed membership but who can prove a history as a supporter will be eligible for tickets. They must produce a ticket or programme from one of the most recent home games against Evesham and Hucknall or be registered on the club’s database.

Those who travelled by club coaches to Buxton in the last round will be on the system.
