Taste of spring with golden daffodils

Thursday 29th October 2009, 10:55AM GMT.

DAFFODILS 7 AW 28The autumn leaves are falling and daytime is getting short yet it looks like spring has sprung with this field of golden daffodils.

But things are not as they seem as the daffodils have been specially modelled out of Blu-Tack by members of the public to help promote the Marie Curie Cancer Care charity.

Stafford-based Bostik has produced a yellow version of its putty-like adhesive this month to support the charity’s Great Daffodil Appeal.

Each limited edition pack of Blu-Tack Yellow sold will raise 10p for the charity. Bostik also ran a Design a Daff competition, to get people using Blu-Tack Yellow to make models of the charity’s emblem, a daffodil.

And half-term holidaymakers have three more days to enjoy the unseasonal warm weather before cooler conditions return to the UK, forecasters said today.

Today, tomorrow and Saturday will see temperatures in parts of England reach 66F (19C).
