Shinedown on the up at Wulfrun

ShinedownFast-rising Florida rockers Shinedown return to the Midlands next month to play a sell-out show at Wolverhampton’s Wulfrun Hall following a rapturously received set at this year’s Download Festival.

The four -piece, led by singer-songwriter Brent Smith, will appear at the Wulfrun on Tuesday, November 10, 2009, in support of their third album, The Sound Of Madness, which showcases the band’s ability to mix up rock hard rhythms with power ballads that, as Metal Hammer magazine said, “Bon Jovi would be proud of”.

It’s a mixture that seems to be working as the band’s profile continues to sky rocket.

Shinedown, have just released If You Only Knew, the fourth single from The Sound Of Madness,  continuing an incredible 2009,which saw the album itself debuting at number eight on the Billboard 200 in the US and the UK falling under the band’s spell with recent single Second Chance playlisted on Radio 1 and Kerrang! among others.

The band completed a headline tour of the UK in January and June saw them play their first UK festival date on the second stage at Download. They also bagged themselves a nomination for Best International Newcomer at the Kerrang! Awards.

Shinedown exploded on to the US rock scene in 2003 with their platinum-certified breakthrough debut Leave A Whisper. Two years later they released Us and Them, which yielded the blockbusting single Save Me – a track which dominated the airwaves holding down the number one spot in the mainstream rock charts for a stunning twelve consecutive weeks.

The success of Save Me was followed by two further Top 5 hits,  Heroes and I Dare You.

The Sound Of Madness has produced three previous hit singles in Devour, Second Chance and Sound of Madness.
